Meet your Facilitators

Facilitator Kathleen Fergusson-Joseph is a Behaviour Change Communication Specialist with 13 years experience in addressing HIV and youth development issues across the Caribbean region. She’s worked at the level of the community and government, conducting training, implementing programmes, and assisting in building capacity among stakeholders.

Kathleen holds an Associate Degree in Nursing, a Masters in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and is currently pursuing an Executive Masters in Business Administration and Management at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

Her experience in conducting training has taken her to many territories across the region and beyond as far as Dakar Senegal.

In 2008 the US Embassy selected Kathleen as a National Leader on HIV and AIDS for Trinidad and Tobago and afforded her the opportunity to participate in the United States International Visitors’ Program (IVP) on HIV Prevention in the United States of America. Since her return, she’s been working on initiatives to help develop civic-mindedness and nationalism amongst young people in this country.



Facilitator Natasha Coker-Jones is the Managing Director of Upstream Publications Limited, a Publishing and Communications Company based in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

In 1994, Natasha entered the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), a department of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications. In 1997 she graduated with honours and also received the Top Print Student Award for that year. The award also allowed her an opportunity to take up an attachment at a magazine in Manhattan, New York.

Upon her return to Trinidad, Natasha joined the Express Newspaper as a Staff Reporter. She was given responsibility to pioneer a new beat called Religion and became the official Religion Reporter up until her resignation.

Upstream Publications Limited (UPL) was born out of a desire to help people from all walks of life to enhance their quality of life through more effective communication. Since its inception in 2001, the Company has produced a range of developmental and commercial products including magazines, newsletters and annual reports. Natasha has led the creative team that conceptualised campaigns and produced supporting materials for BCC campaigns. UPL also offers Public Relations services and Communications Training to corporate clients, NGOs, State organisations and individuals.
